Inspired by Dolly Parton's quote "Find out who you are. And do it on purpose." This print was made for a portfolio show, Tease it to Jesus, a portfolio of 34 printed portraits of Dolly Parton, designed and made by printmakers around the country.
To make the image I cut out letters and images from brown paper bags with an x-acto knife and glued them to a piece of white paper.
After my hand-cut paper prototype was created I made polymer plates of the image and printed them on a Vandercook Universal 1 in Athens, Georgia with Smokey Road Press.
This print is a high quality giclee reproduction of the original letterpress print.
