Cup of Joy

This painting is part of a series that I made during my pregnancy with my daughter, Gwendolyn and was shown at Impact Coffee in Decorah, IA the summer of 2023.
My inspiration was to explore and celebrate the improvisational asymmetries embodied by my garden. This "Cup of Joy" painting was specifically inspired by a bouquet made by a local flower farm, Oak and Olive Flowers. I love their bouquets so much that I have many dried arrangements that stay with me into the winter months.
The painting was made on reclaimed wood and finished with a protective, archival varnish.
